Bio

Curriculum vitae

I am a research scientist at the Bruno Kessler Foundation, a research center in Trento, Italy. I received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa in 1995, and M.S. and D.Sc. degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1997 and 2000 respectively. I spent five years in academia as an assistant professor at the University of Rochester, New York, and the University of Lugano, Switzerland, and one year as a visiting researcher at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. I am also a Senior Member of the IEEE. My research interests include the design, specification, and implementation of middleware systems for mobile ad hoc, sensor, and dynamic peer to peer networks. The driving theme of the work is to enable the rapid development of dependable applications for these complex dynamic environments.

In brief

In one sentence: I'm an American happily living in Europe, learning a new language (Italian), reading when time permits, listening to US Radio (e.g., NPR), loving being a mom to Milena and Viviana and generally enjoying life!
